JAN 20 : CABERNET FRANC - LOIRE TO NIAGARA
Cabernet Franc has nothing to do but everything to do with Cabernet Sauvignon.
Cabernet Franc, some would agree, is one of ’THE’ elderly states persons in the world of wine. Cab Franc delivers deliciousness on a grand scale from the cooler climate banks of the Loire River, France to the open shores of Niagara, Ontario.
At first glance, wines of a deep purple-blue hue present aromas wafting between red or blue forest and field berry fruit, to accents of a leafy green garden with flavours layered, complex, satisfying and seductive. How can you resist a wine that exists only to please all palates at all levels of wine understanding?
We take our first leap into the world of Cabernet Franc. An origin story from Loire Valley France to the already emerging greatness of Niagara Wine Country.
Come taste, talk, learn in this first of many comparative tastings. We will discuss the grape, wine making from conventional to biodynamic to natural, and learn from our round table salon style tasting and discussion.
